Mystikal Debuts No. 1 On Billboard's Album 200 and R&B Charts; Performing on The Chris Rock Show on October 6th

NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2000-Jive recording artist Mystikal lands at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and R&B charts with his fourth album Let's Get Ready..., outselling 98 Degrees and fellow rappers Shyne and Lil' Bow Wow. The New Orleans rapper has taken the country by storm with the Neptunes produced hit single "Shake Ya Ass." According to Billboard Monitor September 15, 2000, the song has so far gained Mystikal the title of "most played rapper at mainstream urban radio ever," surpassing by far national urban hits, such as Lauren Hill's " Doo Wop (That Thing)." Mystikal currently appears on the cover of XXL magazine; he is also featured in the November issue of The Source, Vibe, Spin and Rolling Stone. On Friday, October 6th, Mystikal will be Chris Rock's musical guest on the comedian's HBO show. The artist has already appeared on MTV's new hip hop show "DFX" and has taped performances for upcoming TV shows, such as The Source Sound Lab, The Source All Access, Soul Train and Farmclub.com. The video is now playing on MTV, BET, Much Music and The Box. Mystikal started his career as a rapper in the early 80's when he was opening shows for New Orleans artists such as Mannie Fresh (now of Cash Money fame) and Sporty T. Since then, he has released three LPs, two of which have gone platinum. Thanks to his unique style, Mystikal has always been considered one of the most original voices in rap.
