Film Roman Produces Eight Animation Vignettes for Ask Jeeves Inc.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2000--Film Roman Inc. (Nasdaq:ROMN), independent broad-based production company and animation studio, has partnered with Ask Jeeves Inc., leading provider of question-answering technologies and services, to produce eight animation vignettes. These vignettes, titled "Ask Jeeves Down Under," feature Jeeves, the world's first Internet butler, as an on-air correspondent in Australia asking spectators in Sydney questions about the Summer Games. "Ask Jeeves Down Under" will be cut into live-action footage, airing daily during the Summer Games over the F/X channel's "The X-Show," beginning this week. "Working with an Internet industry leader such as 'Ask Jeeves' further demonstrates our desire and ability to extend our production services within the multimedia space," said Kathee Schneider, vice president of Creative Affairs, Film Roman. "The 'Ask Jeeves Down Under' vignettes add a new dimension to Film Roman's already impressive list of credits." Film Roman currently produces LEVEL13.NET, a multi-channel animation network, featuring animated shorts delivered on 13 topic-specific channels. Targeting 18- to 28-year-olds, these weekly shorts include: "In the Dirty World;" "Reviews," featuring Willis and Jonah as two security guards with an interesting view on entertainment; "Flick & Flora," two 20-somethings ranting social commentary; and a variety of domestic and international short films. Film Roman has been the recipient of 10 Emmy Awards and 23 Emmy nominations. The company also excels in feature film production and prime time network animation. Current projects include: "My First Mister," a feature film in association with Total Film Group, to be released by Paramount Classics; "The Greatest American Hero," feature film version of the classic television series, in development for The Walt Disney Co.; and "12th Lap" for the Disney Channel. Film Roman also is recognized for its production of the Humanitas Award-nominated "Johnny Tsunami," "The Simpsons" and "King of the Hill" for 20th Century Fox Television, "The Oblongs" for Warner Bros. Network, "Doomsday" for UPN and Marvel Media's "X-Men," a Saturday morning animated series based on the best-selling comic characters, for WB Kids Television.
